- AKA: Ossifying Fibroid Epulis; Peripheral Fibroma with Calcification; Calcifying Fibroblastic Granuloma
- Reactive lesion caused by local irritation
- The mineralized product probably has its originates from periosteum or periodontal ligament
- Occurs exclusively on the gingiva
- Color ranges from red to pink
- Surface is ulcerated
- Predominantly a lesion of teenagers and young adults, with peak prevalence between the ages of 10 and 19
- Can cause migration and loosening of adjacent teeth
- Treatment: local excision and removal of source of irritation. Recurrence rate of 8% to 16%.
