Sjogren’s Syndrome

Sjogren’s syndrome is an autoimmune disease that causes a lymphocyte-mediated destruction of exocrine glands. This results in a decrease in glandular secretion of the salivary glands (xerostomia) and the lacrimal glands (xerophthalmia).
